“ Good show jumping is like dressage riding in a in a showjumping arena”.
In 1978 Mr. P. van Lin owner of several famous international show jumping horses such as Pluto (ridden by Henk Nooren) offered Rob a position at his private stable.
At the end of 1979 Rob rode a 1.40 m jumping course in Winschoten on Kohl 1 Noor for the first time.
After three successful performances in the 1.40m course Rob was asked in 1980 to join the Dutch Equestrian Team participating at Hickstead. Hickstead is renowned for its heavy courses, derby and grass surface.
For Rob and Koh I Noor the show was a success yielding great results. He came third with the Dutch Team in the Nations Cup and won second place himself in the Grand Prix.
This was to be the beginning of a long and successful international career…
